The Unique Highland Fishing Venue
From our humble beginnings in 1958, the Thurso Angling Association has managed salmon fishing on the Thurso River Association Water from Geise Farm to the sea. During that time, our careful management of the area has led to a sustainable investment fund for riverbank and pool upkeep, along with improved facilities for the angling club. With fifteen named pools, the association water offers a diverse angling experience for our members and visiting anglers. We offer junior members the opportunity to fish for trout on a section of the association water specifically set aside for them. However, our main emphasis is on salmon fishing and the continuing upkeep of the association’s river banks and other facilities. A spin-off of our upkeep efforts includes enhancing the wildlife habitat along the river and throughout the river mall and its walking paths. We have donated benches which are situated along the mall between the swimming pool bridge and the main town bridge for public use. The association will continue to make improvements as necessary in the future to keep our association water in the best condition as we can for our membership, visitors, and the enjoyment of the public.
